Why I Won't Use AI
I am one of those folks that is fairly rabidly opposed to what is currently referred to as "AI" (even though it is most assuredly not truly artificial intelligence). There are strong environmental and economic reasons to avoid AI use, and, as an intellectual property professional I cannot overlook the astonishing scope of IP theft that has to be committed in order to even create such models. Privacy and Encryption
I use Protonmail for email communication, because their emphasis is on security and confidentiality. When two Protonmail users exchange emails, the email is automatically encrypted end-to-end, and highly secure. Unfortunately, if I am exchanging emails with a non-Proton user, the email is not encrypted, and potentially subject to interception. As a workaround for very sensitive information, I can password protect attachments, or provide access to a secure folder on the cloud.
